AGM venue for 2024 confirmed

The NEC met on Tuesday 28th November and confirmed the budget to hold the 2024 AGM at the Civic Centre in Newcastle, where we held our AGM in 2021.

AGM – Civic Centre, Newcastle – Thursday 10 to Saturday 12 October 2024. Put these dates in your diary now!

The National Executive Committee met on Tuesday 28th November and confirmed the budget to hold the 2024 AGM at the Civic Centre in Newcastle, where we held our AGM in 2021.

We were due to be in Cardiff, Wales and had a booking at St. David’s Hall for 2024, our last AGM being held there in 2019. However, due to the presence of RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete), St. David’s Hall is now closed for at least 18 months; we were advised of this whilst at AGM in Nottingham. The Napo AGM HQ Organising Team were very saddened to hear this news and our thoughts also go out to the wonderful staff our team have been working with every time we have been there for our AGMs.

The Napo AGM HQ Organising Team, upon hearing this news, made every effort to try and find alternative venues in Cardiff but none were suitable for our requirements or available for our 2024 dates.

Luckily, the Civic Centre in Newcastle was available so put these dates (10-12 October 2024) in your diary and watch out for more news coming out in the New Year on how branches can book accommodation and start planning to get as many members coming along, either in-person or virtual as part of our hybrid format.

And if you’ve been at AGM (either for many years or if it was your first time), spread the word how any Napo member can get involved and attend if they join to participate in crucial debates and setting policy for our union, link up with other members from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, attend interesting fringe meetings and socialise in the evenings!
