As the indicative ballot passes its halfway mark, the message from the top is unmistakable: turnout will determine what happens next.
Ian says early engagement has been encouraging, but stresses that every member must take part. “It’s vital that you vote, whatever your view of the offer. Ben and I need to know exactly where members stand.”
Ben echoes the point that this is about democratic strength. “Don’t assume others think the same as you. If you want to reject, vote to reject. If you want to accept, vote to accept. But vote.”
For Ian, this ballot is pivotal. “We cannot keep accepting substandard offers. This is our line in the sand — unless members tell us otherwise.”
Industrial action is not the objective, he stressed, improving the offer is. But a strong, united vote will determine whether the employer returns to negotiations quickly or not at all.
The Message to Members
Vote.
Encourage colleagues to vote.
Recruit new members.
Because turnout is power and this result will shape what comes next.
