We are thrilled to announce that Shaka Hislop, co-founder of Show Racism the Red Card and former professional footballer, will be a guest speaker at our AGM in Newcastle.
Shaka has been an advocate for equality and anti-racism, and his presence at our AGM promises to be both inspiring and thought-provoking.
A Champion for Change
Shaka Hislop’s journey from the football pitch to the forefront of the fight against racism has been amazing. During his career, playing for teams like Newcastle United and West Ham, he experienced racism firsthand. Rather than staying silent, he chose to speak out by becoming involved in Show Racism the Red Card in 1996—a charity that has since become one of the most prominent anti-racism organisations in the UK.
Through education and campaigning, Show Racism the Red Card works tirelessly to challenge racist attitudes that persist in society. His work has had a profound impact on both the sports world and beyond, making him an ideal speaker for our AGM.
Shaka’s appearance at our AGM comes at a crucial time, as we continue to confront the challenges of racism and discrimination in all forms. His commitment to making the world a fairer, more equitable place aligns perfectly with Napo’s values and will no doubt resonate with members who are committed to equality and social justice.
