Sarah Woolley, General Secretary of the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union and GFTU President, joined Napo members at our AGM in Newcastle in October.
Sarah spoke about her journey through the trade union movement starting as a union rep in Greggs, to becoming the first woman General Secretary of the BFAW.
Sarah also talks about the opportunities presenting themselves in the trade union movement to organise, cultivating the next generation and using new technology to help support meaningful change.
Members were reminded of their duty to lead the trade union movement, and that every issue that effects working people is a trade union issue, regardless of if it is happening in the workplace or not.
